Mission & Vision

Why AI Skills Network exists and what we're building.

The Question We Answer

“Can this person effectively use AI tools to do their actual job better?”

That's the question employers are asking. That's the question professionals need to answer. And until now, there hasn't been a rigorous, industry-recognized way to prove it.

The Gap

AI certifications today fall into two categories: technical credentials for engineers (who build AI systems) and governance credentials for compliance professionals (who oversee AI risk). Neither serves the vast majority of professionals — the people who use AI tools daily to write, analyze, communicate, decide, and create.

AI Skills Network fills that gap. Our certifications test practical AI proficiency — the ability to interact effectively with AI systems, produce professional-quality outputs, manage AI-augmented workflows, and exercise sound judgment about when and how to use AI tools.

Our Model

We follow the same standards that established PMI, IAPP, SHRM, and ISACA as trusted voices in their respective fields:

  • A maintained Body of Knowledge defined by competencies and performance indicators
  • Psychometrically validated, proctored examinations
  • Stackable credentials (AIP and CAIP) with clear progression
  • Biennial recertification to ensure currency
  • A talent network connecting certified professionals with employers

What We Believe

AI tools are transforming professional work across every industry. The professionals who thrive will be those who can demonstrate — not just claim — proficiency. We believe the market needs a trusted, rigorous standard for AI skills that is independent of any vendor, platform, or tool.

Our certifications are tool-agnostic and designed to remain relevant as AI capabilities evolve. We test judgment, interaction skills, and applied proficiency — not knowledge of any specific product.
