AIP is designed for professionals across functions whose work is being reshaped by AI tools: marketers, analysts, operators, project managers, HR partners, customer-facing teams, and individual contributors in any knowledge-work role.
There are no prerequisites. If you've used ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools in a professional context for a few months and want to prove you can do so well, AIP is for you.
The AIP exam is a 75–90 question online proctored assessment delivered through our testing partner. Items are scenario-based: you'll be shown realistic professional situations and asked to evaluate, choose, or critique an AI-augmented approach.
Most candidates prepare in 20–40 hours over 4–8 weeks. We publish a free study guide aligned to the Body of Knowledge, plus an official practice exam with detailed item rationales.
The single best preparation, however, is real practice using AI tools at work — applying judgment, refining prompts, and reviewing outputs across the four competency domains.
You'll receive a verifiable digital credential, a listing in the AISN talent directory (members only), and the right to use the AIP designation in your title and signature. The credential is valid for two years and can be maintained through continuing education or by retaking the current exam.
